Harrison Goeldner

Hey 👋, I’m Harrison Goeldner. I am currently a student at Simon Fraser University studying biochemistry and computer science.

I was born in Toronto, Ontario and grew up there for about the first ten years of my life. I moved around a lot and made friends here and there. One particular memory I have from this time was the power going out from a massive tree falling onto a power line. I looked out my window and large arcs of energy were coming from the transformer.

Now living in British Columbia it’s the one thing I miss… the thunderstorms. There is so much peace yet power contained in them.

My family moved to British Columbia for work and I went to a small private semi online school called Regent during my high school years. I made many fond memories there.

Now I am at the exciting part of life in which one goes to university and then keeps adding stuff to their degree! I’ll finish eventually… As already mentioned I am studying biochemistry and computer science. What does that entail you might ask?

Well a lot of memorization… I’ll leave it at that.

I enjoy technology, lifeguarding, and scientific research. I actually worked in a BSL-2 microbiology lab for a couple years doing research into nanoparticles and biofilms.

But enough about me! This blog is about my adventures in programming, science, and lifeguarding (yes us Canadians’ use commas that way).

I hope you enjoy!
